Weekend Confessions

This weekend was not pretty.

It started with a happy hour at a piano bar (we were the oldest group there) that was entertaining, but not at all healthy.  There were some many drinks that led to a late pizza dinner.

Saturday and Sunday I managed to watch my portions, but my choices were not the best or the greenest.  We had some Chinese food and some fantastic home grilled cheeseburgers, but there was a serious vegetable and activity shortage in our weekend.

Today is a new day; I have my gigantic salad packed for lunch and a healthy dinner planned.I am still hopeful I will hit my 10 pound loss when I hop on the scale on Wednesday.  We have an evening bike ride planned and I have been brushing up on inspiration.

I love this quote.

Have a fantastic day!

  1. I had a full week of out of control eating last week, the important thing is that we get back to it, right? Good for you on having a plan! Keep it up and thanks for linking up with us!

  2. Yep, getting back on track and knowing that these events happen. Just dust yourself off and start over! Lord knows I had my share of chips and salsa on Saturday! Today is a new day!

  3. Hey Chic-A-Dee! Thank you for linking up. Weekends are hardest to eat well for me too. At lunch I am bascially stuck with eating whatever I brought to work for breakfast and lunch. And for dinner my husband and I cook healthy. But if we have a chance to eat out then I'm tempted to overdo it. Lately, I've gotten way better at balancing eating out with still eating within normal boundaries.
I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes to start off this week fresh.
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." Ralph Waldo Emerson

  4. How was the piano bar? Was it fun? We have two that are about an hour away...not sure if I can commit without knowing if I'll like it lol.

    1. It was entertaining. There was lots of silliness, but the musicians were very talented so there was lots of good music too.

Have a good weekend, learn from mistakes of the weekend (or, as I prefer to call them, 'shortcomings')...to be better, going forward. :)

  6. For years, I have been eating mostly take-out or dining out. I don't think the toppings on a supreme pizza count as getting my veggies in. I am trying to eat at home which includes eating vegetables. It is going to take work as I adjust my tastes from cheesy gooey goodness to healthy green good-for-you-ness. Good luck this week and I hope you have fun on the bike ride.

  7. Let's not even talk about how bad this week was. Homemade cookies, wine, popsiscles, some more wine...LOL!

But I figured the Zumba and other exercise countered all the bad stuff I did or at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Thanks so much for linking up! :D
